Add the Fixturlaser OL2R^XA Expansion Kit to your Fixturlaser XA laser shaft alignment system and you will be able to measure alignment in both cold and hot conditions to establish the machine’s unique target values. The software allows you to store these values and then perform shaft alignments by applying the values to the recommended tolerances.

Measurements of dynamic movements are used for critical machines within industries where large temperature differences or other disruptive factors exist. The need for dynamic measurements is indicated by a high level of vibrations which remain even after having performed shaft alignment in the cold (offline) condition. There can be a situation where two identical machines behave totally differently, even though OEM recommendations have been taken into consideration during the alignment.

In order to obtain exact target values unique to a given machine, measurements in both hot (running) and cold condition have to be performed. Thereafter, the difference between the cold and hot measurements establishes unique target values that are factored in to the calculations made by the XA when performing precision shaft alignment.
