Apptlicaions
Alignment and measurement of bores, bearings, diaphragms, crankshafts and cam shafts in diesel engines, stern tubes, and extruder barrels

The Fixturlaser Alignment System with the Advanced Straightness program installed, and configured with the appropriate hardware and fixtures can provide a quick, easy and precise way of measuring bore centers. The centers of up to 99 bores are compared to a straight line. In addition to the Straightness routine, system software is provided to download and document the data to a PC.

Advantages

  • The laser transmitter is aimed roughly to the reference positions. It does NOT need to be precisely centered - the software compensates and calculates the exact center point. This makes the measurement process fast!
  • The laser receiver does NOT need to be precisely centered in the bores which greatly reduces the cost of fixtures.
  • The bores can be of varying diameters.
  • Reference bores are selected after the shot is made giving the operator the ability to run unlimited "what if" analyses and review alternate correction scenarios.
  • Results can printed at the job site with the included printer or downloaded to a PC with the included Documentor Software.
  • Live values, instant feedback of results, an easy-to-use graphic user interface all make bore measurement with the Fixturlaser Alignment System the best choice.

Required Skills
VibrAlign offers training that can make you a bore alignment expert.

How to Purchase
The Fixturlaser Alignment System offers many software and hardware options. Your system will be configured to your application in consultation with a VibrAlign representative. The system, therefore, is not available through our online store.

Application Notes & Case Studies

Applications

  • Positioning machinery and equipment
  • Setting rails and guides
  • Positioning bearing pedestals.
  • Checking roll profiles
  • Checking for run out on moving slides, tables and stages
  • Measuring deflections on rams, actuators, and extrusion presses
  • Lathe and spindle alignment.

How It Works
The Fixturlaser Alignment System with the advanced straightness program installed, and configured with the appropriate hardware and fixtures can provide a quick, easy and precise way of measuring the straightness of surfaces. Up to 99 positions are compared to a straight line.

Advantages

  • The laser transmitter is aimed roughly to the reference positions. It does NOT need to be precisely positioned—the software calculates a straight line through any two user selectable points. This makes the measurement process fast!
  • Reference positions are selected after the shot is made giving the operator the ability to run unlimited "what if" analyses and review alternate correction scenarios.
  • Results can printed at the job site with the included printer or downloaded to a PC with the included Documentor Software.
  • Live values, instant feedback of results, an easy-to-use graphic user interface all make bore measurement with the Fixturlaser Alignment System the best choice.

Required Skills
Training is available through VibrAlign to make you a surface alignment expert.

How to Purchase

Application Notes & Case Studies

Applications

  • Installing machine base plates
  • Installing tracks and rails
  • Checking machine beds and casings
  • Profiling surfaces and assemblies
  • Checking flanges and circular planes

How It Works
The Fixturlaser Alignment System with the flatness program installed, and configured with the appropriate hardware and fixtures can provide a quick, easy and precise way of measuring the flatness of rectangular or circular surfaces. Rectangles: Up to an 11 X 11 rectangular grid (121 positions). Circles: 3 X 16 grid (48 positions)

  • The laser transmitter sweeps a flat plane over the surface to be measured.
  • The laser plane can be leveled or defined to the surface to be measured.
  • The receiver is moved to the each measurement position and data is recorded to the control module.
  • The user defines three points of reference or the software automatically selects high or low points.
  • The remaining positions are displayed in relation to the reference points.

Advantages

  • The software makes one of the most difficult geometric techniques very easy.
  • The laser transmitter is aimed roughly to the reference plane. It does NOT need to be precisely planized—the software calculates a flat plane through any three user selectable points. This makes the measurement process fast!
  • The laser receiver does NOT need to be precisely centered in the bores which means greatly reduces the cost of fixtures.
  • Reference positions are selected after the shot is made giving the operator the ability to run unlimited "what if" analyses and review alternate correction scenarios.
  • Results can printed at the job site with the included printer or downloaded to a PC with the included Documentor Software.
  • Live values, instant feedback of results, an easy-to-use graphic user interface all make bore measurement with the
